The Autumn equinox is when darkness overtakes light and the harvest is celebrated with one of our legendary banquets including a Mead reception, roast suckling pig, sausages, drumsticks and Michaelmas pye all served by monks & buxom wenches on convivial tables – you’d be a monk to miss it!

Friday 24 September 2010 at 7.30pm : £30 pp; carriages at 11.30pm

A free drink for all those dressed in their finest Medieval regalia!!

MEAD RECEPTION, WELCOME & GRACE

FIRST REMOVE

Delicious Spinnage pye or Watercress sallet with cowcumber and violet vinagre

SECOND REMOVE

Spit roasted suckling Pigge with a variety of condiments- stue of orenges with clove, quinces preserved with cinnamon, pears and saffron, frumenty, Hodgepodge, petitoes roasted with apples, turnep root pudding & mead glazed cerrets

THIRD REMOVE

St. Michaelmas Pye - one lucky recipient will receive a ring & surely will be wed!

NOTES

The cost includes a Mead Reception, a fine feast and entertainment. Dressing in medieval costume is strongly encouraged with a free drink as encouragement!
