Simply order a three course meal for two from Blackfriars à la carte menu throughout January and each couple will receive a free bottle of Cuvée Georges Dubœuf white or red wine.

To claim your free bottle of wine, quote ‘The Habit’ to waiting staff when you book your table.

Offer is valid from Mon-Fri and tables must be booked in advance.

Blackfriars takes on new starters!

A big ‘Welcome!’ to head chef David Mitchell and conference manager Julia Boccanera who have joined our award-winning team.

David MitchellDavid joins us from Matfen Hall having worked in a variety of AA Rosette and Michelin-starred restaurants. He's already created quite a taste sensation with his new à la carte menu, and has already been shortlisted in the 2008 Hi-Life Restaurant Awards in the Best Chef category.Good luck for the finals Dave!

Our new conference Manager Julia Boccanera

Julia BoccaneraJulia has joined the team as conference manager to oversee the meeting rooms and conferencing facilities. A former children’s party planner, Julia has events experience with fashion company Miss Money Penny and in her spare time enjoys eating out with family and friends and dancing.

Phil Tufnell drops in to sample our bangers

Phil Tufnell drops in to sample our bangersWe’ve been schmoozing with the stars again this month as cricketer and television personality Phil Tufnell visited Blackfriars to celebrate National Sausage Week.
Phil was judging the competition for Britain’s Best Birthday Banger alongside head chef Dave Mitchell, in an event which is held annually at the restaurant. Sausage fan Phil is well known for his cricketing career as well as being crowned King of the Jungle in ITV’s ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!’

Fresh from the success of picking up an award from Hollywood legend Kevin Spacey earlier this year, we have also been hob-nobbing with The Honourable Carol Thatcher and former Queen of the Jungle, Christine Hamilton.

Blackfriars is obviously the place to be – you heard it here first.

A sausage created by butcher Howard Coats of Howard Coats and Son in Durham won the competition in the hunt to find ‘Britain’s Best Banger.’  Charity events and promotions also took place throughout National Sausage Week in aid of The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
